While we were driving to West Virginia for our camp, we received a phone call informing us that due to heavy snows in the area, there was no power at Capon Springs! We made the decision to continue on, since we had driven a third of the way by then.

Upon arrival, we found that there was partial power and a little heat from fireplaces in the main building only, all other building were dark and cold! The Capon staff was able to serve us their usual wonderful diner, since they cook with gas. We gathered near one of the fireplaces, and had a time of singing and heard a message from one of our speakers, Darin Vaxelaire. We then went to our building where we slept fully clothed and under all the blankets we could find!

Monday morning the council ring met and made the very difficult decision to put it in the Lord's hands, and cancel camp if the power was not on by twelve noon. While we were talking with the Capon staff leaders (at about 11:40) the power was restored! Cathy Styer made the observation that once we released the problem to the Lord, He took care of it for us. At this point, we realized that the enemy of our souls did not want us to have this camp.

As it turned out, the Holy Spirit was present, blessing our talks and sharings in a mighty way. This was one camp we will not soon forget!
